SNOWBIRD, UT — The storm that dumped about 19 inches of new snow ended Sunday, but those much-needed 19 inches of new snow covered up many of the bare spots that scratched up my Atomics last Friday. While the new snow made the mountain more forgiving to one's ski bases, by today, much of it was stale and skied-out.

Good, Quick Ski Day

SNOWBIRD, UT — Mindy, Jen (Mindy's cousin), and I went skiing at Snowbird today. Mindy hadn't skied in several years, so we started our day on the Chickadee beginner lift. Surprisingly (but also not so surprisingly), Mindy could ski fairly well right from the start.

ALTA, UT — I met Brendan at his apartment, and then we headed to Little Cottonwood Canyon. First we dropped Dave off at the Creekside Lodge (he has a pass at Snowbird), and then I got ready at my locker at Snowbird. Then we headed up to Alta. Brendan's got a pass at Alta this season.

SNOWBIRD, UT — Given the fact that it wasn't busy, and we had plenty of supervisory staff to handle things, I was able to ski some runs. And thankfully, Bill, the ticket office director, granted me access to the tram!
