Hike Report

Mount Aire Hike

During a Fourth of July party, I texted Steve to see if he was up for a hike the next morning. He was. I invited Paul to join us and he accepted the invitation. So, early Sunday morning, Paul met me at my place, we picked up Steve, and headed up Millcreek Canyon. We had decided to hike Mount Aire.

Paul and Steve hiked at a much faster pace than I, but I made it to the top. The trail had a very northeast feel to it because it was heavily wooded and very wet.

The view from the top was nice. Some potential future hiking destinations along the ridge dividing Millcreek and Big Cottonwood Canyons--Gobbler's Knob and Mount Raymond--were the best part of the view in my opinion. Interrupted views of the Salt Lake Valley and Mount Olympus were also visible in the distance. Interstate 80 disrupted the views to the North and the East.
