I skied this chute in the Peruvian Cirque every run on this day. Sometimes I slid in from the right. Other times I dropped straight in from the left. But the bottom line was that this chute had awesome snow, it was steep enough to be challenging, and it opened up to a powder field with probably some of the freshest powder on the mountain this day.

The mountains outside of Snowbird's boundaries from atop Hidden Peak at Snowbird Resort. In the foreground on the left stands one of the American Fork Twin Peaks. Peaking above its shoulder is the Pfeifferhorn. Notice above the snowfields in the lower right corner of the photo the massive avalanches that slid from the ridge.

Lhakpa Gelu Sherpa, the man who holds the record for the quickest ascent of Mount Everest, sells coffee, hot chocolate, and other drinks on Hidden Peak to raise money for a Himalayan charity. Given my interest in Mount Everest, I just had to meet him.
